About Us
Where we started
Puppyton started in 2019 with two friends and a simple reason to meet: riding bikes together. Fast laps after work, long pulls into the wind, legs burning while conversations carried on anyway.
The yellow bridge became the meeting point. Not officially, it just happened. You showed up at the same time each week and saw who else had made it. Sometimes a small group, sometimes bigger. No sign-ups, no expectations. Just ride.
People kept coming back. Familiar faces turned into friends. Without really noticing, a routine formed. The rides got longer, the coffee stops louder, and what began casually started to feel like something more.
From the beginning, two things mattered: going fast and being kind. You were encouraged to push, never to posture. That mix of ambition and openness became the foundation of everything that followed.
Where we stand today
Today, Puppyton is a community for people who love road cycling and take the sport seriously, but not themselves. It was never about elitism or proving who is strongest. What matters is showing up, riding together and taking responsibility once a group becomes bigger than a handful of friends on the road.
As more riders joined, structure became necessary. Fast riding only works when everyone knows what is happening around them. Ride captains helped keep things safe, clear rules brought calm into the chaos and consistent pacing made it possible for different riders to share the road together.
That structure eventually led to the founding of the club. Not to formalize things, but to protect what already existed. A group of committed members stepped in and invested their time, energy and ideas to keep Puppyton moving forward.
A lot has changed since those early days at the yellow bridge, but the feeling remains the same.
The people behind Puppyton
We’re a team of six volunteers who keep the club moving, on and off the bike.
We support the rides, coordinate safety and events, and help guide future projects to ensure Puppyton remains open, welcoming and sustainable.
All of us ride ourselves, show up regularly and contribute our time because we believe in the community and in shaping Vienna’s cycling culture together.
